Quick and Easy Pizza Dough

This recipe is very versatile and can be used for calzones, pizza, panzerotti and bread sticks as well.







Quick and Easy Pizza Dough

Ingredients:

1 tbsp quick rise yeast
4 cups all purpose/bread flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp salt
1 1/2 cups warm (not hot) water


Directions:

Combine the water, sugar and yeast in a large bowl and let the yeast activate for 15 -20 minutes or until bubbly. Add salt to the mixture and stir. Add about half of the flour and mix well. Slowly and gradually add the remaining flour until the mixture starts to come off the sides of the bowl. It should still be sticky at this point.

Knead dough for about 5 minutes, and return to bowl. Cover bowl with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let rise for a further 45 minutes or until it has doubled in size.

Roll out dough and use for panzerotti, calzones, pizza or breadsticks.

Breadsticks take about 8-10 minutes at 400 F.

Pizza/Panzerotti/Calzones: Top as desired and bake at 425 F until cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Time varies according to type and quantity of toppings.
