Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts -- Baked

Chestnut Marinade:

2 cups whole water chestnuts
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar

Add chesnuts and ingredients in a zipper freezer bag. Marinade at least 12 hours or overnight.

1 lb bacon cut into 1/3 pieces.

Sauce:

1 cup mayonnaise
1 bottle chilli sauce
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup worcestershire
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp hot sauce
1/4 cup ketchup

Combine all ingredients into shallow pot. Bring to a boil on medium-low heat... reduce heat cover and simmer for about 5 minutes.

Wrap each water chesnut with a 1/3 of a strip of the bacon. Secure with a toothpick and place in baking dish. When all water chestnuts have been wrapped, place in baking dish and cover with sauce. Bake @ 400 F for 45 minutes. Serve hot, OR place in slow cooker, add additional sauce and place on warm/low setting.
